Day 2 Welcome to Scotland - Arrive in Stirling Arrive in Glasgow, Scotland, and prepare to be enchanted by the unmistakable charm of this vibrant city nestled amidst the stunning Scottish landscape. From the moment you step off the plane, you’ll be greeted by the warm hospitality and rich cultural tapestry that define Scotland. Onwards to arrive in Stirling, often called the “Gateway to the Highlands,” and your home for the next seven nights. This charming town played a pivotal role in Scotland’s history, with battles fought and won on its land. After checking into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to unwind. You might stroll through the old town, admire the medieval architecture, or visit the Church of the Holy Rude, where Scottish kings were once crowned. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel. Afterward, immerse yourself in the sounds of bagpipes echoing through the air as you breathe in the tantalizing scents of traditional Scottish fare wafting from cozy pubs and bustling markets. Day 3 Stirling Castle - Loch Lomond - Falkirk Wheel This morning, explore the magnificent Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most impressive fortresses. Immerse yourself in the castle’s rich history. Perched on a volcanic crag, it is celebrated for its history and strategic importance. As one of Scotland’s largest and most significant castles, it has served as a royal residence and military stronghold, crucial in the nation’s past. Notable for its associations with figures like Mary, Queen of Scots, and William Wallace and its impressive architecture such as the Great Hall and Royal Palace, the castle offers breathtaking landscape views, attracting history buffs and visitors alike. Later, head to the breathtaking Loch Lomond. See the shimmering waters, surrounded by rolling hills and dramatic peaks, as you learn about the legends and wildlife of the area. The peaceful beauty of Loch Lomond has long inspired poets and musicians, and today, it becomes part of your own story. Day 4 Stirling - Whisky - Loch Katrine - The Trossachs - Doune Castle For those seeking a deeper dive into Scotland’s culture, today offers an optional tour full of Highland charm. On our “Journey of Discovery” you visit Glenturret Distillery, Scotland’s oldest working whisky distillery, where you’ll uncover the secrets of whisky-making and enjoy a tasting of its finest single malts. Continue to Loch Katrine for a scenic cruise, gliding past landscapes that have inspired some of Scotland’s most significant literary works. Stop at the Trossachs Woollen Mill, where you may have the chance to meet a Highland cow up close before venturing to Doune Castle. Our journey begins in the historic town of St Andrews, famed for its prestigious golfing heritage and stunning coastal vistas. Our first stop is the charming town of Berwick Upon Tweed, where history and beauty converge along the banks of the river. Enjoy a leisurely lunch amidst the picturesque surroundings before continuing our adventure. Depending on the tides, we’ll journey across the causeway to the mystical Holy Island, where ancient ruins and serene landscapes await exploration. Then, behold the majestic Bamburgh Castle (where the Last Kingdom and Indiana Jones were filmed), perched proudly atop a rugged cliff, offering panoramic views of the Northumberland coast. As the day unfolds, we’ll go to Durham, where the awe-inspiring Durham Cathedral beckons with its towering spires and timeless grandeur. Day 10 Durham – Liverpool Area Embark on an unforgettable journey as we bid farewell to the historic city of Durham and set our sights on the vibrant streets of Liverpool. En route, immerse yourself in the breathtaking natural beauty of Northern England’s Yorkshire Dales, where rolling hills and picturesque landscapes stretch as far as the eye can see. Upon arrival in Liverpool, prepare for a guided city tour that will take you on a captivating exploration of this iconic city. Delve into the legendary story of the Beatles at the acclaimed Beatles Story Museum, and marvel at the awe-inspiring architecture of the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.
